Two stage 46 valve stereo power amplifier with valve rectified power supply.

Harnessing four 46 valves - one driver and one output per channel. Coupled via an interstage transformer to preserve signal quality beyond simple capacitor coupling. Each 46 has its own individual DC regulated filament power supply ensuring perfect optimum operating conditions and long life. There's no hum to balance here from inferior AC supply.

A separate choke rectified power supply with the highest quality film capacitors offers a ripple free, black background with huge dynamics. Easily driven direct from a DAC or pair with the 01A preamplifier for the very highest level of performance. Ideally paired with high efficiency speakers, this could be the last power amplifier you'll ever need.

• Choice of 866A mercury (2 x 866A/2 x 6AX4) or 836 (2 x 836/2 x 6AX4) valve rectified power supply, (836 is a drop in replacement for 866A). Mercury vapour valves require careful handling. Preheating of the condensed mercury prior to applying power to the anodes is required. For the 866A valve this is approximately 30 minutes after any transportation and then 30 seconds each time the amp is switched on thereafter
• Coleman regulators for each filament DC supply with precision voltage adjustment via top mounted controls. DHT filament current draw can vary significantly between valves - adjustable regulation ensures low noise, great sound and long life for your valves

The design has been optimised to showcase the very best of the 46 however the platform will accommodate components from other manufacturers, including transformers, capacitors, resistors etc. Let us know what you have in mind.
